Together with Arkady Trachuk, General Director of Goznak, the Minister of Finance visited the production workshops the specialists of which work upon the production of the Russian banknotes. At the intaglio printing sector the distinguished guest was able to watch the printing of the first in the history of the Russian cash turnover commemorative banknotes dedicated to the 22nd Olympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi. After the security paper made at the Paper Mills of Goznak arrives to the printing production site, the banknote manufacturing process takes at least 20 days. Printed security elements are applied to the future banknote, the printing quality and the existence of the whole set of security features is controlled in a certain sequence.
The Minister of Finance, who watched the process of manufacturing, cutting and packing of the Russian banknotes with great interest, noted that he has special feelings towards them.
“I like the Russian money very much”, Anton Siluanov answered the journalists’ question. “Our Russian money is dear and near to us, do you agree? Just look, what a beautiful banknote it is!” The Minister pointed at an ordinary, not an “Olympic” 100-rouble banknote being packed into vacuum together with other banknotes of the same face value. “It can’t be compared to any “green” money, can it?”
