The Zhostovo painting with special security

Under the order of JSC Marka, the Moscow Printing Factory has printed another issue of stamps of the Applied and Decorative Arts of Russia series popular among philatelists and folk art connoisseurs.
The issue is dedicated to the Zhostovo painting. The issue has turned out unusual instead of four themes, there are only three on the block of four stamps. However, there are four stamps in the series, as always.
The thing is that previously, the image was divided into four equal fragments with the perforation, and consequently the block of four contained four stamps with identical image fragments. This time, Garland and Currant themes contain traditional images, but there is an oblong tray of irregular shape in Rowanberry theme. Therefore the perforation of Rowanberry block of four divides the image not into four identical stamps as usual, but into two stamps of one kind and two of the other.
As a result, there are three themes on three blocks of four, and one of them is in two variants, said Elena Mishina, Deputy Head Technologist of the Moscow Printing Factory.
All the stamps are printed in five inks four offset inks and the fifth security colourless ink observed in UV light with anti-Stokes luminescence.
One can see a pattern of the stamp background in UV light. The images of the tray and the stamp margin remain invisible. It had initially been planned that the security ink would cover the stamp margins too, but we saw on the printed project with different variants of security ink application that the elements printed with the security ink in the stamp ornament, look more spectacular than the fully printed stamp background.
I would like to remind that the colourless security ink is well observed in UV light if it is printed on light areas. This moment is also one of determinant ones in choosing elements for the security ink application.
In the Applied and Decorative Arts of Russia series, the areas of security ink application are the same for every theme. However, it is not always so. If the images in different themes of one series differ from one another, then the invisible ink localization may be considerably different too.
Partial varnishing the tray is covered with glossy UV varnish is carried out in the capacity of printed decoration. In this case, varnish is cured under the influence of UV light.
One of the largest perforation shapes 70 x 70 was applied for perforating the block of four stamps. All stamps of the Applied and Decorative Arts of Russia series are issued with exactly the same perforation.
The printing quality is determined not only with the correctly chosen ink balance at the start of printing, but also with how accurately the production workers manage to keep the balance till the end of the work upon the press-run.
Sorting and handing over of the stamps to the customers is carried out copy-by-copy, not sheet-by-sheet because of high quality requirements, Elena Mishina explained.
The stamps are issued in the shape of a block of four stamps in the number of 60 thousand stamp sheets of every theme on chalk-coated paper. The size of the stamp sheet is 80 x 80 mm. the size of the triangular stamp is 50 x 50 x 70 mm. The stamps have frame perforation 11 ½. (11.5 dents by 2 cm).
We would like to remind that the Moscow Printing Factory printed Tiles (with partial varnishing), Lacework (with intaglio printing), Scarves (offset printing), Kasli cast-iron molding (thermography).
