The Moscow Printing Factory – Branch of Goznak celebrated 102 years since its foundation on July 6.
The date of the document because of which the factory was founded became its birthdate. On July 6, 1919 the People’s Commissariat of Finance of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic approved the Statute of foundation of the Directorate of Factories of Storing State Insignia. Thus, Goznak was founded; it united the existing Moscow, Petrograd and Penza factories of storing state papers
Banknotes became the first product of the factory. Already in 1921, Goznak produced 3,813 million currency units. The first stamps of the soviet power were issued on August 10, 1921.
Today the Moscow Printing Factory is an enterprise preserving the traditions of the old craftsmen, the artistic and professional schools carefully.
